If you pride yourselves in having an objective and open mind, please, at least make an effort to understand the reasons for the objection before condemning those who believe their religious liberties are being oppressed. Also, ask yourself why, for the first time, contraception is now deemed so vital as to be mandated to be, not just free, but paid for by those who have historically objected upon religious grounds. And that mandate is coming for the first time by the federal government when truly life saving drugs and procedures, that don’t have any religious connotations, are not similarly mandated.

This mandate by the Obama Administration is clearly an attempt to force universal acceptance of abortifacient drugs, and therefore, of abortion itself. He is the most pro-abortion President to occupy that office, and this is unquestionably an attack on the religious freedoms millions of Americans and their churches–and you are cheering him on?

Are you so locked into your ideology that you can’t understand why someone who believes that life is precious from the very beginning would object to being forced to pay for what they believe is the unjustified taking of innocent life (murder)? And yes, scientifically, conception is the moment when a genetically unique individual is created–”person” is a legal fiction that has been used to deprive slaves and Jews of life and liberty. It is human, it’s alive, and it is a genetically distinct individual whose mother, from the moment of conception, has a duty to her child similar in nature to but much, much greater than the legal term “fiduciary” as used to describe a trustee’s responsibility to the beneficiary of the trust.
